I bought one of your weedless spoons in black/chartreuse and took it out to catch some reds this weekend. I started with a typical gold spoon made by Academy's brand H2O express. I had one red chase it but didn't take it. Switching over to your spoon I caught two nice reds and had another large one chase it down like a scene from jaws and I didn't get a good hook set and missed him. For the short time I used your ADL spoon I had good success and I will definitely be using it more and hopefully buying a few more colors. Just wanted to inform you that your product is working and keep doing what you're doing because it is working.
I picked up one of your new spoons in Tittusville Friday morning while
buying some shrimp. This spoon killed the trout. Yeah the shrimp
caught some too, but the bigger trout were all on the spoon. And the
guy at the shop said Peackocks Pocket didn't have any fish.
I have used your previous spoons for years in Charlotte Harbor. These
were my confidence lure for working the mangroves. Caught lots of reds
and snook on them. Bummer theyre no longer available.
I'm going to have to get my hands on the 24 kt Vengeance, its on my
shopping list. I'm going to try these for Brown Trout up in Seattle.
I'll bet that wobble and flash gets it done.
If you like the snap shot, feel free to add it to your photo page.
That's a nice 24" Speck released to make some babies.
Thanks for the reply.
I was back over at Peackocks Pocket looking for some Reds.
Right now there are some over-slot fish milling around.
The attached snap shot is of a 34" beauty that found the Vengeance irresistable.
Wore my arm out. Many long runs. That fish was really a great fighter.
The Chartrouse was the color of the day. I quite counting Trout after
the first 15.
At least 10 were over 20". Shrimp picked up a few, but almost all fish
were on the spoon. It is starting to show some battle scars. Another
epic day with your spoon.
I have a new favorite!
Delray Beach, 6:45 AM Caught this snook (23 lbs) this AM on a glass minnow mullet tail, 12 lb test w/15 lb fluorocarbon leader,
Sorry about the sand in the photo, but wanted to get a quick pic and get him back in the ocean and a lady walking down the beach used my iPhone and I wasn’t paying attention to which side of the fish was toward her. He was pretty tired and I wanted to clean him up and get him back in the water ASAP.
The fish would not touch the silver mullet, but as soon as I switched to the glass minnow……….!!
Thanks, you have a great product.
Capt. Mike, I recently moved to the forgotten coast of Florida and
started kayak fishing this season. Everyone recommended that I get my
hands on your weedless spoons. So my first lure purchase was a set of
your spoons. Then a couple weeks ago I received an email promoting the
new SureStrike Spins, so I bought a couple for my buddy's visit on
Memorial Day 2011. They arrived just in time for the weekend fishing
trip. Day one we targeted Speckled Trout off of St. Marks and
literally the first cast with the Trophy Spin landed me my first ever
speckled. I proceeded to catch 3 more within 10 minutes of each other.
We had to abandoned the rest of the day due to high winds.
Day 2 we
targeted redfish and again I used the Trophy Spin and tossed it
parallel to the shore as I was coming out of a creek and landed this
24" beauty. My buddy begged me to give him one of my extra Spins but
we are a little too competitive for that. Thanks for the great lures.

I fished with you in March of 2010 and bought a couple boxes of spoons while I was down. Anyway, attached is a picture with me, a 24" NC red drum, and one of your spoons. We were sight casting and this drum hit the spoon as soon as it flutter by him. Where we were fishing we only had 30 minutes to pole in, fish, and pole out, due to the tides. Thanks for the great spoons.
The pic shows the spoon on the side of the mouth, this was for show, he actually inhaled the thing!
This redfish was caught in Turtle Creek Bay which is a main creek in Waccasassa Bay. I fished all morning on the incoming tide with a topwater lure without much luck. As the tide began to shift and start falling a little I started throwing the large Aqua Dream Gold spoon. I caught a small rat on one of the first casts then a decent keeper red. Shortly after I landed this one which I believe measured just a hair over 28". I have since streamlined my tackle box to almost exclusively include aqua dream spoons, jigheads with soft plastics, and topwater lures. I have had really good luck with the spoons when the water floods into the grasses.
Here is a nice pic of a 34” Redfish caught Sept. 13 in Tampa Bay. Fishing with Capt. C.A. Richardson we tied on your weedless gold spoon first thing and in about a half dozen casts or so after pulling onto the flats…BAM!! It hit this gold spoon like a Mack truck! In fact we never caught a red under 32” the whole day. We got so worn out, we actually stopped fishing them and went out to catch some big spanish mackerel for a break!
I was going to send this picture in before I even knew there was a contest! The fish isn't the biggest but the story is pretty neat. I bought your weedless, gold spoon because I was tired of my Johnson Silver Minnow spoon and having to sharpen the very dull hook which in turn just makes it rust. I took one look at your lure and new it was going to be good! The very next day I set out to specifically catch a redfish on a gold spoon being that I have NEVER caught a red on a gold spoon. I put my Kayak in at Ramp Rd. in the 1,000 Islands and began fishing top water. After a few blow ups on my top water I decided to go prowl the mangrove Islands for reds. I paddled for a ways until I turned a corner and immediately saw a nice tail sticking up out of the water.
Thought to myself, "I need to switch to a Gulp! shrimp. I know he'll slam that." Well right as I was going to switch to the Gulp! I decided, hell I've already got the Aqua Dream spoon on my rod why not try it? I made the cast just a head of the tail and reeled it slow and stead when WHAM! Fish on! After a few little runs I boated this guy. He measured 22" and you can see the spoon still hooked in the corner of his mouth!
I have tried a lot of spoons but this is the first spoon that has worked for me and guess what, I'll keep using them!
Aqua Dream Spoons were the moneymaker for team Jim Jimenez / Curtis Gilbert in the 2010 IFA Destin Tournament March 13th.
“Curtis that’s my tenth fish…” is what I told my partner Curtis while I was using an Aqua Dream Weedless 1/4oz gold spoon. He had yet to catch one while using another brand.
I then gave him a rod of mine with another Aqua Dream spoon already tied to it and on his first he jacked up his first fish.
Throughout the day we were competing against a couple other boats in the same area as us. We caught 42 fish in total, bringing back 14.08lbs to the scales. The other boats fishing around caught less then 6.
I’ve been a big fan of Capt. Mike’s spoons for years, but my partner Curtis became a fan instantly last Saturday while using them for the first time.
Thank you Capt Mike for designing your latest line Aqua Dream Spoons. They won us 1st place in the Destin Tournament and placed us in front for 2010 IFA Team of the Year.
Baits Used: ¼ Oz Weedless Gold Spoon, ¼ Oz Weedless Black Spoon
Don’t change a thing with these spoons!!!
